For the second year in a row the band entered the NIBA contest in Armagh. It took the usual format of a march and a hymn tune. Our choice was Loyal and True for the march and No 10 in the red hymn book Colne. After a short rehersal in the Armagh Masonic Hall we made our way over to the Market Theatre for the contest. There were five bands in our section with ourselves being drawn to play third. The band gave a good performance on stage and should be very proud of what it has achieved. The results were as follows:

1st Letterbreen Silver    2nd Greystone Silver   3rd Banbridge Silver   4th Lisnaskea Silver    5th 1st Larne Old Boys Silver

Sunday 19th September 2010

Today the band made their return to the Scarva bandstand after an absence of approx five years. We had 22 seated players including 4 guests. The band played well and had a few positive comments from the public afterwards. It was great to see the band in its concert layout once again and giving a good account of itself. Well done to everyone. The weather stayed quiet dry with the odd spit of rain but it did not dampen the occaison.

Saturday 28th August 2010

Today the band accompanied RBP 27 in Banbridge and then boarded a bus and travelled to Newcastle. We had 28 of a band on parade and we looked and sounded good. The weather wasn't too bad. A very heavy shower of rain came down on us as we left the assembly field but apart from that it stayed reasonably dry with just the odd drop of rain. All in all a good day was had by all.

As usual it was a very good day and the weather was kind to us. The band played well and gave a good account of ourselves as always.

 Wednesday 17th March 2010 AGM

The band AGM was held at !930 in the Masonic Hall in Loughbrickland. The chairman made it a very family friendly evening with all wives, partners and children invited. The first piece of business was to pay tribute to our late President Griff Whylie how sadly passed away since our last AGM. N Martin said a prayer for Griff and his family. All officers stayed in their posts with the exception of Lowrie Whylie who became our new President. A number of awards were given out to members of the band, including Lowrie Whylie who has reached 60 years service to the band and the local press were in attendance to take photos. After the offical business Irish Stew and Apple Pie were served up by J Robinson and the band were entertained by G McClean on accordian and B Davidson on saxophone. It was a very enjoyable evening and thanks must go to the Chairman and his team for such a successful night.
